Hey guys! How is it already August??? Where did the year go?????? At least we're getting closer to Christmas...
I went to Indigo yesterday because I wanted to go buy Forgive Me Leonard Peacock, the hardcover is only 5$ at the moment, but they didn't have it in stores... A normal person would've just went home, but I decided to go to the sales section and purchase 3 books to make up for it... In my defense, Indigo has great sales.
I bought Throne Of Glass, by Sarah J. Maas! Finally! I'm planning on reading it with my friend Maxine, so we can fangirl at the same time. I'm finally going to know what the hype around this book is about! The book was in a 2 for 15$ sale, so along with ToG, I bought Ms. Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, by Ransom Riggs. At first, I wanted to buy Ms. Peregrine and Hollow City, but I have this new thing where I only purchase one book in a series. If I like it, I will borrow the rest of the books and if I love the series, I will purchase it eventually. So I bought 2 first books in series, so I can check them out and get a first feel!
I then bought The Picture Of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde. This is a classic that I've been meaning to read for so long. Our teacher summarized the book in class and it sounds so interesting. I hope to read this one in August!
Lastly, I went to my local thrift store this morning, like I always do for books. They have awesome classics and contemporaries for 3.50$ and less (I bought TFIOS there for 3$!) and I hit the jackpot. I found Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in the Bloomsbury/Raincoast hardcover edition!!! It was not only the only book I didn't have in English, but also in my favourite format! I was so happy!
That was my first book haul! So many firsts in a week, but I'm so happy to be getting back into reading and blogging. They are two things I really love to do and I'm glad to have found the motivation again. Thanks for reading!
