We are less than two weeks away from Christmas! How insane is that? I've wanted to get a book review out for you guys but I haven't been reading (at all) because of exams, final assignments, Christmas shopping, packing for my 3 week trip to China and I'm still in a reading slump... I'm so sorry! To make it up for that, I saw Regan (PeruseProject)'s Tis the Season Book Tag video and it really made me want to do it as well so here we go!
1. Do you have a favourite winter read?
Like everyone else, I love to read the Harry Potter books. There's something so festive about the magic found in these books! Another book that I've just started reading but I know will be one of my favourite Christmas reads is Let It Snow, by Maureen Johnson, John Green and Lauren Myracle. The stories are so cutesy and festive and I just love cuddling up in my bed and reading them!
2. Find a book with blue on the cover!
So many books have the colour blue on the cover, but the first one that caught my eyes on my shelf is Carry On. The cover is gorgeous and I have it facing me so that's probably why it's the first book I saw!
3. Find a book you'd use as the star on a Christmas tree!
Does this mean a book with a gorgeous cover? If so, I'd pick If on a Winter's Night a Traveler, by Italo Calvino, because it's absolutely beautiful, and super clean-looking and minimalistic!
4. Pick one fictional place that would be perfect for a winter vacation!
Hogsmeade! Just imagine going there with Harry Potter and his friends to grab a butterbeer or some candy. England in general would be lovely! If I have to pick somewhere else, it'd a a small town, like in Safe Haven, by Nicholas Sparks.
5. Pick one fictional character you'd like to take with you on your winter vacation!
Baz, from Carry On. Êtienne, from Anna and the French Kiss perhaps? Or someone like Cinder, because she's super cool and I feel like she hasn't seen snow yet!
6. Name one book on your Christmas wish list this year!
There are so many! I'd have to go with Eleanor and Park or The Night Circus! I've been wanting to have these books for ages but never got myself to spend so much money for them...
7. Favourite holiday drink, treat, and movie?
My favourite holiday drink would be hot chocolate or Tim Hortons's french vanilla, although I have it like year round. My favourite treat would be butter cookies! I'm craving some right now oh gosh... And my favourite Christmas movie would be either any Harry Potter movie or Elf, a classic!
Thanks so much for reading this post, I hope you had as much fun reading as I had writing! I tag anyone with a blog (or anyone in general really) to do this tag because it was so much fun!
