The DREADED reading slump. We've all been there, and sadly, it's inevitable. Thankfully, there are ways to get out of one. I have a post up with my tips, but I decided to make an even more in depth post about the books that I always turn to when I'm in a reading slump... Aka right now.
1) Anna and the French Kiss, by Stephanie Perkins
Honestly, you saw this one coming. This book is probably on every positive list about books I have, simply because I loved it so much. It's always a joy to reread this book!
2) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, by J.K. Rowling
Any childhood favourite will do the work, but this one in particular is such a loved book of mine. I love the characters, and the plot in this third book is my favourite in the whole series. Sirius Black though.
3) Carry On, by Rainbow Rowell
A recent read that easily found its place on my list of top 10 favourite books. Fangirl didn't struck me as much, and I don't see myself rereading it at all, but Carry On was magiCKal.
4) The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, by John Boyne
Although I didn't even enjoy this book that much, it was so short and entertaining that you just finish it really quickly and kind of crave more. After reading that book, I was in need for historical fiction...
5) In Real Life, by Cory Doctorow and Jen Wang
Because it's a graphic novel, I can easily get into the story and finish it. Plus, the plot and idea behind this book is so good and entertaining, but carries a wonderful message. Short novels/books always get me out of reading slumps really fast, so this is one of my go-tos!
Not going to lie, I am currently in a horrible reading slump, but have started The Girl on the Train because of all the good things I've heard about this book. Hopefully, it's good enough to get me out of this slump I've been in for the past 3 months!
Thanks for reading, if you read any of these books be sure to tweet me or comment!
